Getting Fit! Getting Healthy!

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”

– – Earl Nightingale

The most beautiful and loving experience for a women is in being a mother. It’s a very exciting phase for every new mother, but with this comes great responsibility to grow your baby in a nourished way. During this journey we usually won’t get time for ourselves. Stress, sleep deficit comes in and our fitness regime gets lost somewhere. But it’s very important for us to take a serious note on our fitness. It’s not all about losing weight only but to stay fit, so that you can look after your baby well.

So, it’s time to bounce-back and get into an active mode.

I am a mother of 2.5 year old boy now, it took me almost 1 year to realise how important is my fitness (I know it’s too late, but then I realised). Ahhhhh😁😁, those extra pounds which I gained during my pregnancy to motherhood transition, needs to be reduced and obviously like every other lady, I also wanted to get back in shape.

I  weighed around 79kg, which was sufficient reason for my repetitive back pain. So, I started off with basic brisk walking for 30 minutes (5 days per week) initially and later increased it to 60 minutes. This actually helped in regaining my stamina, but still it was a long journey for me. My next level moved with hitting the gym where I began with treadmill and cycling routine for 30 minutes each and some basic stretching exercises. It’s really hard to stay focussed and you certainly need some motivation to keep going (for me, my husband and my gym ladiesπŸ‘ kept motivating me for this regime πŸ˜‡).

In the next phase where I pushed myself a bit more, and went ahead with the elliptical cross trainer and treadmill 30 minutes each along with full body workout for 30 minutes. Of course with a controlled diet, like avoiding cheesy processed food, fried food items, chocolates (sometimes, I can’t avoid them fully 😜), etc.., believe me it worked, now I lost around 12kg. Still moving on to reach my goal .

To be precise I followed:

1. Aerobics: Aerobics is done with oxygen as the name suggests, this form of exercise improves heart health and I preferred going with:

  • Treadmill
  • Biking
  • Elliptical cross trainer

2. Strength training: This form of exercise improves the bone and muscle strength, and makes core muscles more tight and I preferred going with:

  • Crunches
  • Russian twists
  • Dumbbell Shoulder press
  • Dumbbell Bent over row
  • Sit ups

Me before n after:

I read somewhere

“Motivation is what gets you started and habit is what gets you going”

Your attitude determines your altitude by Denis Waitley ,truely said if you stay focussed and motivated you can achieve what you want. I will keep posting my workout updates in next blog. Do share your success stories .

Till then….. Live Fashion Love Fitness…😍😍
