Box of treasure… MAC Studio fix fluid foundation

It’s seriously extremely hard to find the right foundation for respective skin type. Everyone have their own priorities while picking up the foundation, few to list down:

Coverage
Long lasting
Light weight finish
Leverage to acne prone issues
UV protection (Must..)

Actually, I think all of them are required in one product. Earlier the makeup brands were able to address few issues in one product but not all. Nowadays with advances in science, we can get all the needs embedded into one product. In today’s world almost all brands claims to provide all in one foundations, but not all of them are truly what you are looking for. For skin type (combined) like mine, it’s very tough to find the right one. I am not being brand specific, but yes I tried Za liquid, Maybelline, Colorbar and Loreal as well, and somewhere I was kind of OK (will rate them average) with them, but not fully satisfied by the time I tried the MAC range of foundations. Yes, the product range from MAC are a bit costlier, but they are surely worth trying. I was looking to get on with this brand since a long time and finally bought this foundation🤗.

Let’s evaluate the claims made by MAC:

A modern foundation that has a mix of natural matte finish and medium to heavy coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 protection. It applies, builds and blends easily and evenly. Its comfortable and long wearing, helps minimizing the appearance of pores and imperfections giving skin a smoother and more flawless look and finish. It’s time to evaluate the claims..

Packaging & look:

MAC never leaves any chance to attract the eyes of buyer, you will always find their products tempting in look. This studio fix fluid foundation is no exception, it comes in black mattified box and inside it there’s the product in glass bottle with black cap. Yeah, there is also an option to buy the pump separately (for $10). When I was buying this product, I thought of skipping the pump, honestly speaking I felt it’s a bit costly. The only negative I can see in the product is the glass bottle making it too heavy and always at the risk of breaking while travelling.

Texture & feel:

The texture is very smooth and gliding and is a little bit thick in consistency. The only thing to take care of is its application. If applied in a wrong way or if applied too much, it results in a cakey look. I prefer the real techniques beauty sponge as applicator, which helps in giving a uniform look. I hardly found need of concealer with this foundation, it easily gives medium to heavy coverage. Coming to lasting power, yes this foundation do last for very long. It doesn’t go anywhere for 8-9 hours, if you use it properly (follow the basic rule, i.e. apply primer and moisturizer). Another point worth noting is it’s a bit heavy for everyday use.

To summarize..

It’s a good foundation for oily skin, covers in the pores and blemishes properly.
It has good lasting power.
It’s better to buy the pump (yes it’s costly) because if you don’t, things start messing up after using it 2-3 times.
You will find a range of warm and cool tones that would certainly be a spot on match for respective skin tones.
Good foundation with medium to heavy coverage.
It costs around $27 in USA and it costs around 2700 INR in India.

My Verdict, my way:

When it comes to makeup, MAC would never ever go wrong!!!!

I truly love their products. They are costly but worth purchasing (they are worth every penny). I would definitely prefer this product for people with oily/combination skin and those who love to have a matte finish.
